The Business: Founded in 2018 by Kat Novoa, Babes of Wellness is the first queer Latina-owned all women’s wellness gym in Los Angeles. They offer a sanctuary for all women and LGBTQIA+ folks to explore and define what wellness means for them in a safe, inclusive space.
The Founder: Kat Novoa is a certified personal trainer, nutrition coach, and certified olympic weightlifting coach. She has created a method of trauma informed care in fitness and has coached over 1000 women and counting through Babes of Wellness.
A domestic violence advocate, Novoa has partnered with many different shelters in the LA/OC area to raise funds, organize community events, and provide free wellness sessions to shelter residents.

“We’re working hard to reboot our security systems and alarms. [We’re] going to have to invest in this,” Novoa told Queerency. “Funds will be used to pay our employees during closure and keep us up and running until we sort everything out.”
